I’ve already waxed euphoric in a previous post about the delights of finding undeveloped film in cameras and kit we win at auction or buy at estate sales…
Here’s our latest “found film” discovery: a roll of Konica 35mm found in a Nikon F3 with a 200mm Konica lens. The photographer and his family really liked this BMW GT3 and its driver!
The Nikon F3 camera containing this roll of film came from an auction in the USA, but I think the race car and track in the photographs looks like somewhere in the U.K. Maybe the photographer/camera-owner moved here after taking the shots, or they were a US resident who took the shots while traveling in the U.K.
In any case, we always end up asking, “why did they leave the film in this camera without developing it? Did something happen to the photographer, so that the film was never developed? Or did they stop using the camera and simply forget about the film inside it? No way to know for sure, but it’s fun to speculate and wonder…
